SS 418 Sheet and Plates consist of about 12-14% Chromium, 0.15-0.20% Carbon, 1.5-2.5% Nickel, 0.5-1% Molybdenum, up to 1% Manganese, 0.5-1% Silicon, and traces of Phosphorus and Sulfur, with the balance being Iron. They are mechanically having a tensile strength of about 760-965 MPa, yield strength of about 450 MPa, hardness up to 45 HRC, and elongation of 15-20%. Their physical characteristics are a density of 7.75 g/cm³, thermal conductivity of 25 W/m·K, and an electrical resistivity of 600 nΩ·m, which makes them suitable for high-temperature and high-strength applications.
