SS 422 Sheet and Plates contain around 11.5-13.5% Chromium, 0.20-0.25% Carbon, 0.5-1% Manganese, 0.5-1% Silicon, 0.5-1% Molybdenum, 0.2-0.5% Vanadium, 0.5-1% Tungsten, with the balance of Iron. They mechanically have tensile strength of about 1035-1310 MPa, yield strength of about 790 MPa, hardness up to 50 HRC, and elongation of 15-20%. Their physical characteristics are a density of 7.75 g/cm³, thermal conductivity of 24 W/m·K, and an electrical resistivity of 600 nΩ·m, which makes them suitable for aerospace and power generation high-stress, high-temperature applications.
