AWS Class ER308/308H MIG and TIG filler wire and rod contain a chemical composition of 19-21% chromium, 9-11% nickel, and 0.04-0.08% carbon, which enhances strength at high temperatures. These fillers have a tensile strength of about 600 MPa, a yield strength of about 300 MPa, and an elongation of 35%. They have a density of 7.9 g/cm³ and a melting range of 1350-1400°C with good thermal stability. The composition is well balanced to offer high oxidation resistance, intergranular corrosion protection, and high-temperature performance.
