Weston Stainless in Midland, UK, is a renowned stockist of superior stainless steel fittings, offering superior quality material for numerous industries. Of its wide range of products, EP (Electropolished) Elbows and Bends are in much demand for their silky surface finish, corrosion-resistant properties, and long life. These fittings come in several grades like SS 304, SS 316, and SMO 254, and are found in shapes ranging from 45-degree, 90-degree to 180-degree bends. Fabricated from superior quality stainless steel, EP Elbows/Bends provide low fluid resistance and contamination, which makes them suitable for pharmaceutical, semiconductor, food processing, and high-purity applications with ultra-clean piping systems.
EP (Electropolished) Elbows and Bends are constructed from high-quality stainless steel, such as SS 304, SS 316, and SMO 254, with chromium (18-20%), nickel (8-18%), molybdenum (up to 6%), and low carbon content for increased corrosion resistance. Mechanically, they provide tensile strength of 515-650 MPa, yield strength of 205-300 MPa, and elongation of 35%, providing durability and flexibility. Physically, they exhibit density of 7.9-8 g/cm³ and thermal conductivity of 14-16 W/m·K. With electropolished surface, they provide ultra-smoothness, minimizing fluid resistance and contamination hazards in high-purity systems.

EP (Electropolished) Elbows and Bends are commonly utilized components for ultra-clean and smooth pipe systems in applications. They are critical for sterile fluid transfer in pharmaceutical and biotechnology facilities, where the principal objective is to minimize contamination pockets. They also facilitate the transport of ultra–high-purity gases and chemicals in semiconductor manufacturing. They have extensive applications in the food and beverage industries to create hygienic processing lines that do not generate bacteria. They are also used in chemical/petrochemical as well as desalination and high-purity water applications. Their ability to resist corrosion, smooth finish, and high durability make much more ideal for industries where cleanliness and efficient methodology matter.
