Weston Stainless, which is headquartered in Midland, UK, is a prominent manufacturer of high-grade stainless steel welding consumables that produce long-lasting and reliable products for industrial use. The AWS Class E347-16 Electrodes are suitable for welding stabilized stainless steels, especially grades 321 and 347, with high intergranular corrosion resistance. These electrodes come in rod shape with different diameters, providing smooth arc performance, low spatter, and high-quality weld beads. Made from high-strength stainless steel stabilized with niobium, E347-16 electrodes possess superior mechanical strength and resistance against cracking and are, therefore, ideal for corrosive and high-temperature environments.
AWS Class E347-16 Electrodes have a composition of around 18-21% chromium, 9-11% nickel, and minor additions of niobium and tantalum to avoid carbide precipitation. They contain tensile properties of about 550-700 MPa with yield properties about 300 MPa, showing 30-40% elongation with excellent ductility. Their density is roughly 7.9 g/cm³ with a melting interval between 1400-1450°C. The electrodes display strong resistance towards oxidation, corrosion, and high-temperature thermal fatigue and, hence, suit better for extensive use at elevated temperatures.

Exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly against intergranular corrosion. Typically available in diameters of 1/16″ to 1/8″ (1.6 mm to 3.2 mm), they provide a lighter coating, facilitating easier welding with smooth, clean welds and minimal spatter.
High corrosion resistance, especially in harsh environments, these electrodes come in diameters of 1/8″ to 5/32″ (3.2 mm to 4.0 mm). The heavy coating enhances arc stability and provides a thicker slag layer, offering better protection and ease of removal for cleaner welds.
Superior corrosion resistance and are ideal for high-temperature applications. Typically available in diameters of 3/32″ to 1/8″ (2.4 mm to 3.2 mm), they are designed for shielded arc welding, ensuring stable arcs and good weld integrity in challenging conditions.
AWS Class E347-16 Electrodes find broad application in uses where high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance are needed, for example, in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and chemical processing equipment. They are best suited to welding in petrochemical, power generation, and aerospace industries where intergranular corrosion resistance is important. These electrodes are also used in food processing plants, furnace components, and pipeline welding, ensuring durable and crack-resistant joints in environments exposed to thermal cycling and corrosive chemicals. Their ability to maintain strength at elevated temperatures makes them highly suitable for demanding industrial applications.
AWS Class E347-16 Electrodes are provided with test certificates to ensure conformance to AWS A5.4 and ISO 3581 standards for mechanical and chemical properties. They are packed safely in moisture-proof containers to avoid contamination and maintain weld quality. These electrodes are supplied in different diameters and are provided in standard or customized packaging for safe handling and effective global shipment to satisfy diverse industry needs.
