Weston Stainless, a Midland, UK-based company, is a well-known distributor of top–grade stainless steel welding consumables, catering to diverse industries. Among its high-end products is the AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes, used for welding low-carbon, fully austenitic stainless steels. The electrodes are formulated with controlled composition to reduce microfissuring and offer superior resistance to corrosion, especially in sulfuric acid environments. Used in standard shapes and sizes, they provide excellent weldability with clean bead finish and low slag. The E320LR-16 electrodes find extensive use where high corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are needed. AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes have about 19-22% chromium, 33-37% nickel, 1.5-2.5% molybdenum, and trace amounts of carbon to provide better resistance to intergranular corrosion.
They provide tensile strength of approximately 550-700 MPa, yield strength of about 300 MPa, and elongation of 30-40%, providing ductility and toughness. Physical properties consist of a density of approximately 7.9 g/cm³ and a melting range of 1370-1400°C. These electrodes have very good oxidation resistance and are stable in high-temperature and aggressive chemical conditions. AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes find extensive application in chemical processing, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and marine engineering industries.

Excellent corrosion resistance and are suitable for welding stainless steel structures. They come in various diameters, such as 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm. The light coating facilitates smooth arc stability and minimal spatter.
Superior corrosion resistance, heavy-coated electrodes are ideal for high-stress applications. They are available in diameters of 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, and 5.0 mm. The heavy coating enhances the weld’s integrity and improves its resistance to oxidation.
Excellent corrosion resistance, these electrodes are designed for shielded arc welding of stainless steel. They are typically available in 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm. The shielded arc provides enhanced protection against contamination during welding.
They are best suited for welding 320LR stainless steel parts, such as heat exchangers, storage tanks, and piping systems that are exposed to highly corrosive media. These electrodes have superior resistance to sulfuric and other acidic environments and are thus well-suited for chemical plants. They are also employed in food processing and production of medical equipment, where even higher corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are required.
AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes are supplied with test certificates that confirm compliance with AWS A5.4 and ISO 3581 standards to ensure quality and performance. They are supplied in moisture-proof containers to avoid contamination and ensure weld integrity. The electrodes are supplied in different diameters and come in standard or customized packaging for safe handling and prompt delivery to industries across the globe.
